The PDD Memorial Quilt
In loving memory of all victims of Proventicular Dilatation Disease.
Buddie
Buddie was taken down to VHup
in Philly and cared for by the well known
and respected avian vet Dr Karen Rosenthal. Buddie had some swelling in
her lower abdomen and she was put on Metacam. During the month she was
not responding to these meds. We took her for a 1 month visit and she
redid some blood work and before we got the test results in Buddie had
weakened and fell off her cage top and died. She actually fell 2 times
and died from her falls. Dr Rosenthal says that Buddie died from PDD.
All this happened the morning that our vacation was to start. We are
devastated, especially my husband. Buddie died in his arms. She died
with the person she loved so much and she was given kisses from both of
us and was reassured that she was loved SO much by everyone.
Buddie died July 14 2002, she was only 2 years old.
Rest in Peace Buddie, we all love you SO much! You were such a big part
of our life and you made us happy when we were sad. You knew how to make
us smile with your kind words, wolf whistles, phone conversations and
wonderful kisses! We miss you so much already,
Luv......... Mommy and Daddy |

Earthbound Angels
Occasionally, we are graced with the presence of an
earthbound Angel.
They are unable to stay with us for long, but while
they do, they bring unprecedented joy and happiness to all they touch.
While they are here, we bask in their goodness and marvel at their
contribution to the world.
When they leave, we are left with the
devastation that comes with losing such a wonderful being...
but we must remember...
the earthbound Angels are not ours to keep.
They are ours to enjoy, learn from, and behold until they return home.
